PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Ancient Wood finish is chosen specifically because it carries visual complexity and character — the multi-tone, weathered grain quality that distinguishes it from every other cladding in the EcoClad range. It follows that the corner trim for an Ancient Wood installation needs to carry that same complexity, or the detail junction becomes the weakest point in an otherwise carefully considered facade.

The EcoClad Ancient Wood External L-Edge Trim is manufactured in WPC Co-Extrusion to match the multi-tone ancient wood colour profile and 3D embossed grain surface of the main cladding panels. When installed at external building corners, window reveals, or wall terminations, the trim continues the aged-timber aesthetic around every edge — so the facade looks resolved and authentic from any angle, not just face-on.

The 51x51mm L-profile conceals cut panel edges on both sides of a corner junction, protecting the composite core and weatherproofing the corner detail. Fixed to the subframe before panel installation, the trim creates a factory-finished corner appearance without exposed fixings on the face.

For anyone building a full Ancient Wood facade or using it as a statement feature wall — this trim is the component that completes the look without breaking the aesthetic you’ve been building toward.

Q: Does the Ancient Wood L-Edge match the multi-tone colour variation of the main cladding panels?
A: Yes. The L-Edge trim is manufactured from the same Co-Extrusion WPC compound as the Ancient Wood cladding panels, replicating the same multi-tone grey-brown-silver finish and 3D embossed grain surface. As with the main panels, some natural variation exists from piece to piece — this is a feature of the binate finish, not a defect.
Q: How do I ensure the corner detail looks seamless with Ancient Wood's complex colour finish?
A: The key is to let the natural variation in both the panels and the L-edge trim work with you, not against you. Because neither the panels nor the trim are uniform in tone, slight colour variation at the junction is expected and actually enhances the reclaimed-timber aesthetic. Avoid trying to match specific tones at the corner — the overall impression of aged, varied timber is what matters.
Q: Can the Ancient Wood L-Edge be used for internal corners?
A: The standard L-Edge profile is designed for external (protruding) corners. For internal corners, contact our team for appropriate solutions. Internal corners in cladding are typically handled with scribing, a flat fillet trim, or a purpose-made internal corner profile.
