Some colour combinations simply work — and Teak & Black is one of them. The contrast between the warm golden-brown of teak grain and the depth of a charcoal-black background sits at the intersection of contemporary and organic, creating a facade material that reads as both modern and grounded in natural material character.

EcoClad Teak & Black External Wall Cladding is a binate finish that blends these two tones across the panel face. The result is a cladding that has the visual complexity of real timber — where different grain lines carry different tones — but without any of the maintenance responsibilities that come with genuine hardwood in an Australian exterior environment.

This finish suits contemporary builds that are moving away from monochrome facades into something with more character. It works alongside dark window frames, raw concrete feature elements, steel structures, and sculptural landscaping. On full external facades it reads as bold and intentional; on accent walls, alfresco surrounds, or boundary fence panels it provides a strong visual anchor against lighter surrounding materials.

The Co-Extrusion WPC construction means the teak and black colour tones are integral to the panel structure — bonded in at manufacture, not painted on top. UV stabilisers in the cap layer maintain the contrast between the two tones over time, resisting the fade that would cause a surface-coated finish to slowly wash out into a uniform mid-tone.

Horizontal tongue-and-groove profile, concealed clip installation, 220mm wide, 25mm thick — the same proven EcoClad system in one of the most visually distinctive finishes in the range.

Q: Does the Teak & Black finish look more teak-toned or more black when installed at full scale?
A: The teak and black tones are balanced in the binate finish, but the overall read of the installed facade tends to be dark — the black component gives the wall significant depth and weight, while the teak grain lines provide warmth and visual texture. The balance can appear to shift depending on lighting conditions: in bright direct sun, the teak tones are more prominent; in shade or overcast light, the black reads stronger. This dynamic quality is one of the most attractive aspects of a binate finish.
Q: Is Teak & Black cladding suitable for fence panels and garden screening?
A: Yes — this is one of the most popular applications for Teak & Black. The bold contrast reads beautifully against garden greenery and provides a strong visual backdrop for outdoor entertaining areas. The low-maintenance nature of WPC makes it ideal for fencing applications where painting or oiling a timber fence would otherwise be a recurring chore.
